Arby’s drive-through customer Ryan Hart, 14, of Jackson, Michigan, was enjoying his food on May 11, when, according to his mother, Jamie Vail, he exclaimed that he had found a piece of human finger in the last bite of his sandwich. She thought it was just the typical goofing-around behavior of a fourteen-year-old boy, until, grossly enough, he spat out what appeared to be an inch-long piece of the back of a piece of finger with part of the pad, “I was like, ‘that gots to be a finger,’” he told the Jackson Citizen Patriot. “I was about to puke… It was just nasty.” Vail called 911 and met police at the hospital where her son was treated and released. Arby’s confirmed in a letter Wednesday, that there had been a recent meat slicer accident and injury at that location, and that the employee involved hadn’t told anyone immediately. “Somebody loses a finger, and you keep sending food out the window? I can’t believe that,” said Vail.
